The building day was also really fun. We all helped and everyone got to play games with the kids and the weather was wonderful!

Rachel Pearce - Favourite Cambodia Memory
The first day was fun we were all excited about getting here. One fun part was getting to ride the elephants.

To be honest, this whole experience of being in Cambodia has been amazing. There are a few things that stick in my brain whenever I think of it and they are things that I will never ever forget. One of the very first things that pops into my head is when we went to the S21 prison and The Killing Fields. That day I will never ever forget. The amount of pain and destruction that the people of Cambodia have been through to be where they are today and to be as happy as they are no matter what situation they are in astonishes me and is mind blowing. Seeing this has given me an appreciation for everything that I have back home and has made me love this beautiful country and their gorgeous people even more! Another thing that comes to mind is being able to meet and interact with the kids. They are always happy to say hello and find a way to talk to you even if they can't understand your language. I will never forget my time in Cambodia and hope to return in the future :)

In Siem real we went to the Phare Circus. The show was called 'Eclipse'. There were acrobats, juggling, fire twirling and dancing all telling a story about discrimination; about a boy in the village that was different, so people didn't like him.

My favourite part of the trip so far was Sunday when we helped build the two houses with global village housing, and mostly when we got to play and get to know the local children. They were all very happy and it was lots of fun!

My favourite part so far was today when we visited the different parts of CCF. Getting to see how everything worked and what had been provided was great.

Visiting S21 and the killing fields really opened my eyes to the hardship that the Cambodian people endured. It was one thing talking about it in class, but actually being there, seeing the faces, and hearing their stories gives you this understanding you couldn't possibly grasp from a classroom.
